Hello  thought I'd start a thread for us to share our recipes for the babies. I got into the habit of buying jars when I went back to work 'just incase' and ended up using them all the time, so there are officially no jars in this house now

Im making up food to freeze, its so much cheaper and I can pop a few cubes into a pot for the childminder just as easily as a jar.

Im struggling with recipes that I can freeze though. So far we've got bolognase, pork and apple with sweet potato, and fish pie in the freezer. Im not sure what else to make up. Hes gonna get bored of the same 3 meals over and over!

This was sooo much easier when he was 6 months and I just pureed a bit of brocoli, carrot and sweet potato into ice cube trays

can you freeze cauliflour cheese? I need cheap recipes too! Saw a lovely on on anabel karmels website but the ingredients would cost too much.

I do charley corn beef hash all the time, he loves it!! It's just corn beef with mashed potato, add carrot for extra taste.

oooh, and that sounds cheap too :yay: thanks, Ill have a look, Ive never eaten corned beef ever in my life!

Omg I love corn beef!!! OH had ago at me the other day!! He was like why have you wasted half the tin cos you haven't made that much!! I was like I havent I ate the rest!! Lol!!
Corn beef and onion sandwiches are lush!!
I do alot of meals using sweet potato. Sweet potato and apple, sweet potato and veg, sweet potato and chicken! It's really easy and quick to do.
I wanted to start charley on proper meals at 7 months but it's so much easier to make stuff then purée it cos I know he'll eat it. ATM he just wants to play with whole food x.

yeah I need foods to send LO to the childminder with too. He has one 'cooked' meal per day which I usually spoon feed and one BLW style meal which is usually, cheese, fruit, toast type foods. Ive just thought Ive got a load of cous cous inthe cupboard. I might be able to make something with that

veg stock (i use one boots cube)
half chicken breast/thigh
courgette
biggish potato
couple of carrots

put it all in a pot (even the raw chicken!) and bring to the boil then simmer for half hour. i mash half and puree the rest now. it freezes really well too and Isla loves it :)
