Are there any other first-time mum's on here?

Me

It's terrifying isn't it?!! I'm really looking forward to being a mum tho.

yup this is my first! I feel like I have a million things to learn in such a short time! But it good to get advice from ppl on here who have been through it, kinda makes you feel sane!

This is my first time too!
Currently fine about being pregnant, not thinking about the birth part and terrified of the actually looking after a baby part.
I think it's going to be a very steep learning curve!

yep, my first as well, can't believe at the end of the pregnancy bit you get to take home and look after a human being!!

first time mum too. its all very exciting i think lol

Me too! It's definitely most exciting but I'm with Frog on the not lookign too far ahead bit :rotfl:

I new to this too!! :D Think im around 5 weeks ish, but will put it up when i get an official date and things from midwife on tuesday! Still not entirely sure its sunk in yet, have been lucky and not felt sicky or anything...just have sore boobies! And doing my usual things like mucking out/filling haynets for the horse wears me out alot more. Good luck to everyone :cheer:

Hello all!!

Its so weird. I just can't believe that even though after 3 BFPs and feeling all the twinges and stuff that there is a little person growing inside me! I'm hugely worried about it, and although I'm getting used to the idea, I still don't feel pregnant.

I've just been out and bought a 'guide to your pregnancy' book and one for DH, written by a bloke with a football on the front so he'll be thrilled!!

Yeah I'm worried I'll get to the scan and she'll say... nothing there sorry you must have had some wind or something. lol

But its so scary, i keep sitting in the spare roomand thinking "this is the kids room now". I can't belive that I'm going to be a mum! A mum! I can barely look after myself!

I know EXACTLY what you mean! Especially the bit about having wind! And as for being able to barely look after ourselves! I still feel like I'm about 18!! (I'm not though, I'm 32....)

I'm 23 and a teacher, I have a good job that finishes in may, and my OH wants me to say home after that and not go back to do GCSE watching/marking so I'm going to be all on my billy tod from 5 months on! how stupid is that! I'll be climbing the walls but its all part of my OH's plan to make sure I'm in tip top condition for when baby arrives.......

Anyone elese partner being mental and treating you like your made of glass?

Huh, I wish! I told him yesterday that I couldn't lift something, can't remember what it was and he laughed at me and said that he hoped I wasn't going to milk it for the next 9 months!!

I think he was joking....

He did say later though that he would wrap me up in cotton wool if that was what it took for us to have a healthy baby, so I'm sure he was joking earlier!

One thing I think I'm going to struggle with is being around drunk people. They annoy me! We're going to a rugby match on Saturday with some friends and obviously I won't be drinking, and then we've got a family party over the Easter Weekend and then DH and I are going on holiday and he's VERY annoying when he's drunk....

This isn't my first - it's my third (  ) but the feelings are still the same. It doesn't get any easier or any less scary

I'm sure!! Congrats on your third baby Lil Miss Secret!

I'm trying to fill myself with positive thoughts - the alternatives are far too scary to contemplate!

You have the right idea. No matter what you think, you can't influence the outcome. However if you always think bad thoughts it is going to stress you out. Might as well think positive and enjoy the experience as much as you can

Wait till we are all in 3rd tri and moaning about how big we are and we're getting kicked to death etc - we should come back and look at this :)
