Are Dopplers safe?

I used mine pretty much once a day. DH is worried that I might be harming the baby and that they are not safe to use so regularly.

I've tried searching for info on the net, but can't find anything about the dangers of dopplers.

Anyone got any views?

Prob best to ask your midwife, im fairy sure that they would say not for frequent use or something on the instructions if there was a danger, your not xray -ing it just using an increased hearing device!!! Dont really see how they could be harmful, but like i say best check with midwife to be sure!!

Midwife said no danger, apart from the risk that it will make me obsessive and I will end up ringing her when I think the heart rate has dropped, which is totally normal

Also, the sound my midwife picked up today was the placenta. Which is what I have been picking up 99% of the time. There's only been once when it sounded like she described. I didn't realise they were as similar as they are.
