Well i had my first ever gynea appointment yesterday. I was so excited, i rang the hospital before leaving as i had a dream that we travelled there and the doctor wasnt available. Was reassured that there would be a consultant to see me as they all delt with infertility, and that if they felt they couldnt treat me they would refer me on.
Little did i know my dream was a premonition....
Appointment at 12.00...didnt get seen til 12.45. The consultant that was ment to see me was 'running late' so passed my file on. Finally got into see dr only to be told he cant understand why i was here as this clinic doesnt deal with fertility. None of the consultants specialise in infertility in the clinic. I asked him why i was told on the phone that i was coming to the right place. He just shrugged his shoulder, then went on to tell me i wouldnt get ivf on the nhs....i hadnt even mentioned ivf or any other treatment at this point. He half heartedly took some notes, told me i'd need a hsg and bloods....told him i had them and they were right there in the notes if he'd bothered to look!!
He didnt even read my file, then when i explained the tests i had done he spoke to me like i was 12 year old.
It was a complete waste of time, got on the phone to my gp and complained for sending me there, apparently it shows up on the choose and book as having a fertility clinic, so a complaint has been made and a rushed appointment for me has been made but i now have to travel to lincoln!!
Feels like i've just take a blow to the stomach and been knocked back 10 spaces!! ARRRRRRRRAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH
