Any OH's with diabetes?

Hey! Just thinking back to our first midwife appointment and remembered she was unsure if baby would be tested at birth / kept in for 24 hours like they do when the mother has diabetes. Strangely enough she'd never come across a pregnancy where the dad had diabetes and not the mother! Any insight ladies? X

My husband has type 1 and our baby isn't being tested at birth I wouldn't worry they only test baby if mum has gd or diabetes themselves cx

Ooh ok thank you. My husband has type 1 too. Glad baby won't have to have extra tests! We know what signs to look out for and DH's diabetes didn't come out until he was 3 or so, so fingers crossed we will have a healthy baby at least until a similar age! Lol x

I wouldn't worry my hubby was diagnosed at 23!! First type 2 and tabs didn't work so he's def a type 1 like you say you know what to look for xx
