B has started waking about 2. I give him a cuddle and he goes back down ok. But....he has now started stirring every half hr afterward and does until I lie him next to me/on me and then he instantly sleeps. This is becoming a bad habit!

I've tried leaving him for a few minutes and he just winds up into the start of a cry so pick him up.

Any ideas? I don't think it's hunger, although could try another bottle. Only reason I don't is because he falls asleep when I pick him up.

Thanks ladies xx

Is he cold? Maybe wrap him up cuddle then put Back down.

Maybe try another feed even if he takes a bit as a top up it might settle him a bit more.

Sometimes just an extra oz when he stirs may help

Thank you both.

Don't think he's cold but it's worth checking.

Another oz might be worthwhile.

Someone suggested hungry milk at night but not sure what I think about this. Prob not for us.

Scrap that idea just been doing research on it. Think it would be a bit selfish on my part plus he isn't regular pooper.

OH is off tmrw and has said he'll do night duty. A full nights sleep. Yippee!

The only advice I can give is to give him a wee cuddle at 2am then when he stirs just leave him or try the re-settling techniques to get him back off, it is a bit of a bad habit & can be hard to break! Try an extra oz. I wouldn't advise hungry baby tbh.

Tbh we tried hungry milk and didn't notice a difference infact I swear he ate more hubby said its called hungry baby as it makes them hungry so personally I didn't see the point

I had the same problem with Harlow, she was sooo clingy and just wanted to be constantly held against my tummy. I found a perfect solution that worked, I wonder if it would work for you too?

Anyhow, I got a hot water bottle and filled it with water that was body temperature heat and wrapped her in a blanket with the water bottle against her tummy. I figured she would think she was still against my tummy with the warmth on her and low and behold she slept without wanting to be on me and has now broke the habit and goes down in her own crib no problem! Why don't you try putting the water bottle at the side of your LO so he thinks your next to him?

Just an idea for you :) x

Thanks so much. Great idea Lou.

Really value your advice ladies. Xx

Great idea lou!!

I was going to say the same as littlemiss, let him go a good few mins and see if he self settles. Will was doing this for a while when he was in his Moses basket so I used to rock it with my hand til he fell back to sleep. One night I decided not to, he moaned for a few mins then fell back off to sleep! He's been fine ever since xx

Thanks lovely will keep at it. OH is upstairs feeding him atm. I wish I could fully relax but know I won't!

I've ordered a book someone posted on here the other day about sleeping etc.
