I am extremely anxious over my upcoming due date on 17th Aug. It stems from my lovely Mum not actually having contractions nor dilating with all 4 of her pregnancies.
Sadly my Mum has a still birth on her 2nd pregnancy. I know alot of my anxieties come from my Mum’s still birth :(
My Mum didn’t have regular contractions nor did she dilate at all so had to have c-sections with her pregnancies.
Does anyone know if dilation/contractions are hereditary,
Am I likely to not dilate too? I am stressing over not actually going into labour & the worst happening

I'm not sure how to help you with this. Have you contacted your midwife or gp with your concerns?x

I’ve seen 2 Midwife’s yeah, 1 said that she didn’t think it is hereditary & that there hasn’t been any research on it. And the other said she was unsure but that baby would be monitored whilst in hospital. I guess I’ve got to try relax & think positively over it all :clock:
