Just started to think about these, who is all doing them and which ones? Do any of you already mummys have any reccomendations on wether to do them or which ones are usefull? xxxxxxxx
Well there weren't any spaces left for me last time so I am considering going to have a look ths time around. Only trouble is Im sure they're just going to spout the usual and not give any consideration to 'natural birth' - we'll see
I am in the middle of changing midwife and potentially hospital so I wasn't sure if there were any NHS classes still with places by the time I get the details. My last midwife told us about a dads to be class which our friend found very helpful. I was having a look at the NCT classes, about £25 for a three day 15-16 hour session which another friend recommended. I'm still not sure though! Sorry no help at all
My friend in work said the NCT ones are really good, but you have to pay for them, they are about £145 for the 3 day course, i booked mine the other dayxxx
i done the ones run by the hospital with my girl and because i had emergancy c section im glad i did because i knew exactly what was going on which helped and i also met my anethsetist as he wife was in the class lol if your going for a very natural birth there may be better ones to do
Hospital ones are very negative IMO. They focus on pain and pain relief and all the things that could go wrong. I've just done a Hypnobirthing course and that includes all the ante natal stuff but comes at it from a much better angle.
thanks girls. I really dont know. Mervs mum - someone else has told me they didnt think the NHS ones were great. How did you go about finding the hypnobirthing one? I know it sounds silly but sometimes I think you can know "too much". Maybe its just best to let nature take its course and take it as it comes.....Oh, i dont know! x
