I know there are one hundred and one threads on what to pack for bag but I am really worried I forget something.... Can I check it with you guys first.

I have so far....

Old nightie
Some nice PJ's
Some comfy trousers and tops for myself
Towel/Face Cloth
Shampoo/Conditoner/Shower Gel/Deo/Moisturiser etc.
Pants - went to Primark and got 10 for £1 - just to bin - don't fancy disposable ones!!
Socks
Breast Pads
Maternity Pads (well it's thick night time sanitary towels?!?!)
Nappies/Wipes
5 baby vests
4 baby grows
1 coming home outfit for baby
Baby mits, socks, hat
Baby blanket
1 Baby Cardigan
I-Pod for music / some mags

Thats all packed so far, need to get some drinks, snacks.

Does that sound about right?!?!?

Cant help you but I have to say i love this topic i keep thinking i will forget all my stuff when it comes round to packing. So keeping posting about bags please!!!

That sounds good to me Sarah, but I haven't started mine yet!!!!!

Are you planning on breastfeeding? If so, are your pj's and tops capable of 'popping a boob out'??! And what about a nursing bra?

If you aren't breastfeeding, you would be best to check if the hospital provides bottles and formula, as some don't now.

Thanks for replies.... I am planning on breast feeding so my nightie buttons up. I have packed a maternity bra too - why cant you get nice looking ones - they are all so "granny-looking"

I have honestly been having nightmares about this bag - I put it off so long because I was still working and then I started finding other excuses but to be honest .... it was cause I didnt have a clue what to pack!! I had an ante natal class yesterday and a new mum from the last group was in with her 9wk old baby girl (soooooooo cute!!) for us to ask any questions to so I asked her and that put my mind at rest a bit.

It's still knowing if I've got enough for baby - I'll be fine, but baby! Because I'm going into a midwife unit instead of labour ward - all going well for me and baby we could be out within 6hrs to 10hrs (well I'm hoping!!)

Still can't beleive it's only 11 days left!! Plus mw thinks I'll be early!!!

lip sol - aparently the gas n air makes your lips really dry.

loose change - for the phone, the car park, drinks from machine (if shop is closed) etc

telephone numbers - your OH is bound to leave someone off the list you want him to call (well mine will - so i've wrote all the numbers and names down i want him to call)

toothbrush and paste - (for you and OH)

small mirror in case there isn't one in the room - just to check yourself before visitors come.

hair brush, head band.

think thats it...

Look like it's all been covered! How exciting, I've been looking online to see if can start ordering bits and bobs now as I'm worried in case I go into labour early and have nothing, and end up having to make do with hospital stuff :( . It's good you put up this post as I think I'll start getting some bits and pieces this weekend.

Im so glad you posted this..i am taking notes so when it gets closer to the time i will know what i need :D :D

oh yes just in case no one else mentions - rather silly but don't forget to pack your (Maternity) notes  !

Im glad you metioned that..would have been just like me to forget to add that

I have to say that the disposable knickers have been a god send, they're more comfortable than I thought they would be. Perhaps because I haven't had a c-section.

It's so convenient to be able to just bin them as well. Especially if you have heavy bleeding.

I would pop some in your bag.

Defo take lots of maternity pads. Maybe that was just me because my waters broke early and I was in hospital for a few days before being induced I went through loads of them.
