My eldest step daughter who is 9, wrote this poem for my baby shower. She spent well over an hour on it. It made me ball my eyes out. I think it has amazing insight for a 9 year old!!
When you give birth you might have wished they stayed in,
But then you are with them for an hour or two,
You realise you do not want to throw the in the bin.
Babies are fun but they might make you cry,
They will make you giggle as well,
When you with them the time passes by.
Toddlers can be a pest, they also make a lot of mess,
Boys will love dinosaurs,
And girls will have a made up friend named Jess.
Children are worse, they argue and fight,
They will clean up their toys though,
But they keep you up all night.
Teens sometimes hate their mums, but you know they really do care,
They will be off kissing all night, they sometimes steal your money,
And they know you realise they are a nightmare!
Now the babies are adults and it feels like they were born yesterday,
I bet they have married and have kids now,
But I know you will love them June through till May.
