Leif doesnt seem to be dropping any bottles and i keep getting told he should be by now. He has been having jars of food since he was about 15/16 weeks old and he has

9.25 about 4oz of formula (tried to give im breakfast the other day but he didnt want it)

12.30 7/9oz bottle and a jar of food

3.30 7/9oz bottle

6.30 7/9oz bottle and jar of pudding

9.30 9oz bottle

sometimes very occasionally he will wake for another one around 12ish but not very often.

But he sleeps till about 7 then he comes into my bed and sleeps till he shouts for his bottle.

Is that to much milk? or not enough food? i'm not sure :?

at meal times are you giving a pudding?
I always gave Keeley half a jar of meal then half a jar of pudding then as she got older gave her more of the jars( if that makes sense)

Also is he on hungrier(sp) baby milk?

It sounds alright to me. i know from 6 months food is more important than milk.

He could just be a hungry baby :D

The jar at lunch time is a savoury one and i give him a pudding jar for his tea. The milk is hungry baby to.

You could try giving him a meal and pudding at the same sitting.
If your worried talk to your hv :)

I have done the pudding and dinner in the same sitting before when i first started giving him food.

I'm not to worried, i'm was just wondering really cause i have been told i am overfeeding him.

I am hopefully seeing the HV on wednesday if she turns up.

Haydens still having 5 bottles a day
breakfast he has baby brekkie/ wheatabix
at lunch he has a jar and a pudding (sometimes a sanwich)
at tea time he has whatever the others are having for dinner

A little while ago Poppy was taking milk every 2 hours and I was worried that I was overfeeding, but the hv told me that you can't overfeed a baby and if she didn't want it then she would let me know or sick it up.

I thought that until they were 12 months that milk was still the most important part of their diet and solids were for tastes, textures and a bit of bulk? If that's the case then I wouldn't worry too much at this stage if he's taking a lot of milk still as he's getting most of the nutrition his body needs from it, he's still young aswell :) I definately wouldn't worry about him dropping too much milk before he gets to 6 months :)

I honestly dont think it is possible to overfeed babies, poor little lad, he's just a hungry boy! People p**s me off - everyone has an opinion about how you bring your LOs up. Either you are feeding them too much, too little or the wrong things. (Can you tell that i have just got back from a visit to my mum's who has an opinion on EVERYTHING!!! :rotfl: )

I only know what Isaac has and it's very different from Leif, so might not be of any use
Isaac has 5 x 6oz of formula a day (roughly, some days its less some more), and lots of breast through the night, which obviously I can't measure, and he's on Hipp stage 1 formula, he was on hungrier baby but as his feeds seem to lessen we thought maybe try him on regular formula and he's happy with it.
As for food, he has what equates to about 1, maybe 2 jars a day, somedays he has nothing, we just try him and see if he wants it or not.
Very best wishes Flame, if Leif's healthy and happy I really wouldn't worry about it
