After all i'm pregnant, i'm allowed! Have received my first midwife appointment today, for end of october. I assume this is my booking appointment, (letter is not very clear) but by then i will be 13 weeks. The midwife then has to book a scan for me so surely by then i'll be at least 14? I'm annoyed because i've had quite a few pains and am going through a tough time at work, but although i've told them all this they dont seem to be doing anything to put my mind at rest. I don't think these male doctors understand at all what real worry is, especially pregnant worries! Anyone know why things are happening so slow? I'm under Lincoln hospital. Rant over! Clare xx 7+4
Hmmm, I thought the usual was to have your first booking appointment with your midwife at around 7 weeks....maybe it's different in your area. That annoys me too, we should all get the same level of care no matter what area we are in.
I had my booking in appointment at 10 weeks + 5, but my midwife had sent off the scan request at 5 weeks + 5 when I initially saw her. I had the scan done at 12 weeks + 1. In some areas a 12 week scan isn't offered at all (according to this month's Mother and Baby magazine).
