8 Week Weigh In

Hello

Today I took my 8 week old baby girl to clinic to be weighed and she was 9lb 12oz. This is exactly 3lb more than birth and I said oh thats great but the HV didn't agree and said it should be more and to come back in 2 weeks to weigh her again.

Am I the only one who thinks she's doing well?

I would say that sounds fine to me. I've just looked in my baby's red book and she'd gained 3lbs 14oz at 8 weeks. No one's ever said she's not gaining enough

I would say that's pretty good. Was she perhaps worried your LO had dropped down the percentiles?

Ours was born 9lbs 9oz and was 11lbs 1oz at 8 weeks, and they're concerned as she's gone from 98th to 50th percentile.

Poppy was on 50th initially and has been on 25th ever since. She's dropped her night feed but is having 3-5oz 5 times a day. She's not crying for feeds so would that mean she's satisfied?
