2 y/old won't poo on toilet?

Hi all,

We're potty training my 2.5 y/old, and he's great at doing wees on the toilet - but he refuses to poo. It's almost as if he's scared.

Has anyone else had this, and what did you do to overcome it?

Sam was the same at first - he was perfect with weeing but woudln't poo on the potty/toilet. He knew when he needed to go though, so I used bribery We'd had a sticker chart for wee when he started and they seemed to have lost their appeal (new, more exciting stickers might have worked though) so I said I'd give him a present if he had a poo in the potty. Less than an hour later he did I just had afew little things left over from party bags for his party so I used those. He's still very good with it now. Hope you find something that works

We had exactly the same with our daughter a month ago except it was both she was frightened of doing in the toilet and the poo was worse. We ending up using a potty for a couple of days so that it wasn't as daunting for her which worked a treat although poos were still a problem so we resulted to bribery as well with us it was sweets I'm ashamed to say . We luckily only used them a couple of times and she's doing great have only really had a couple of accidents!
