Hi,

Does anyone elses newborn (if she still counts as a newborn) move themselves in the night?

Libby has done this twice now - I put her down 'feet to foot' in the cot (no blanket as too hot), then in the morning she is at the other end of the cot with her head to the far side of the railings & her feet to the front....if you get me? So if looking at the cot from the side through the railings she moves from horizontal & to the left, to vertical position & to the right

She must have a big wriggle to get there :D

well oran in moses basket so not much room to move but he still does, he wriggle from bottom to top, goes diaganol, fron back to front and alsorts so god knows what hes gonna be like in a cot!!

Austin's a right wriggler, I sometimes put him on our bed for a nap during the day and he often travels from one side to the other (and round in circles!) He loves his playmat and his change mat, and if I put him on his tummy he kicks his legs and sticks his bum in the air like he's trying to crawl!

Brody started doing this a while ago and wakes himself up by kicking the bars of the cot!

Thanks for the link Sam that looks like a great idea! :D

teej does this too but we have a cot divider which I am desparately trying to find a link for!! We got given it by sil and it is great it means he is still free with his arms and legs but he can't go very far as we were noticing in his travel cot at mils that he would start of right in the middle and end up curled up in a corner!! I love him having the freedom to kick and wave his arms but don't want to risk him going all the way up the bed! Apparantly they are reccommended by anne diamond.

Found a link (I a multitasking - typing and searching!)

I would definietly go for something like this em x

emily does this
i put her vertically in the cot and five mintutes later she was completely horizontal

also when i let her have a kick about on her changing mat, she kicks herself all the way off it

She stayed put last night......think I'll invest in body positioner though

willow does this i will put her feet to foot and when i go in to her room in the morning she is right up the top.

i have put cot bumpers and blankets all round her cot so if she moves to the sides she hopefully wont hurt herself as t is alln padded
