1cm dil yesterday

Hi

i went to hospital yesterday with pain on my bump and my back and bum!
they checked me over and examined me and was 1cm dil!

was wondering how long labour would last as they said i am at the 1st stage of labour, my babies head is engaged to. (this is my 2nd)!

Has ne body had this experince!

I was 1cm dilated for like 3 weeks and had to be induced, although my baby wasn't fully engaged either. So who knows! You really can't tell when you'll go into actual labor or how long it'll last by dilation, as you can sit at 1-2cm for weeks. HTH!

The birth I attended last week was induced because the lady had been 3 cms for 3 days and they wanted to get it all going so it's quite normal to stay 1-3cms for a while before labour starts.

I recommend walking up and down stairs and sitting on a birth ball to try and get things moving a bit more.
