15 week appointment

Hi! I had a 16 weeks appointment with the midwife at the docs! Are you going hospital or just to see the mw?
If its just the normal mw app then you will have your pee sample tested, your blood pressure checked, hear baby's heartbeat
The only time they put a needle in your belly is for the amnio which would only be an option for you and only if you needed one like your blood test came back with a high chance of Downs etc!

the mw will take about 4 to 5 lots of blood from u (from the same needle they just change the tube lol thank god )
they will next 4 downs ,stds, animia, spina bifida and sickle cell if u havent already had it done
the downs test will only tell if ur high or low risk, if ur high risk u can hav a amnio thats the needle in the tummy and that will tell u yes or no
but i wouldent worry 2 much about it ur more likely 2 get a letter through the post saying low risk

i never had a 15 week appointment! i've only had one appointment with my midwife, a few weeks before my dating scan. not heard the babies heartbeat either.
is this normal?

hmm, i thought it was a bit strange. i've been into the hospital a few times for my bloods being taken, but i've not seen her since that booking in meeting!

Maybe you could phone your docs and explain to them you havent seen her and maybe they will make an app for you? I hope they havent missed you off the list?

why early?
yeah, she said something about swapping my appointments over to my GP's, rather than making the trip to the hospital all the time. i'll ask about it when i'm in the hospital on monday. thanks

LOL because if I go late again, he may be born in December! Now We have OH's 3 sons with a birthday in Dec along with 2 of his brothers, my sis and our nephew! Plus xmas equals very expensive month!
This is why I "planned" on getting pregnant slightly later in the year lol! So if Im a week early, I will at least have a couple of weeks to make sure I have enough money for all them other birthdays too haha
